Shenyang to improve water quality

Shenyang Municipal Health Care Bureau  yesterday kicked off a week-long cam
    paign on drinking water. According  to the promotion,  the bureau has  set 397 observation  points, monitoring  and  analyzing water quality quarterly.  
    An official with  the bureau  said more  than 500 water wells had been  recorded  in maintenance  filing  and  the  bureau  checked  the  its implementation  in  fixed  term  and urged water suppliers  to  step up  the work.  
    To ensure water  safety, Shenyang City  set 379 monitoring  points  since  2011,  forming  a network  in districts and counties.  
    Shenyang Municipal  Sanitary  Surveillance Bureau  and Centre  for Disease Control made quarterly  check  to  the monitoring pointing on chlorine  residue,  turbidity,  color,  PH  value, visible  substance  and  smell,  etc.  the  authorities can  find  risks  in water  as  soon  as possible  after analyzing  the  results.  
    New national  tap water  standard will  be carried out  in  July 1  and  improvement of water quality  is  top priority of Shenyang City  this year. Since March 20 Shenyang Water Supply Group Corporation  has  overhauled  9 major suppliers by  closing unqualified wells,  cleaning pipelines  and  storage  reservoirs, upgrading  filter chambers  and distillers  and  installing online detectors  of  chlorine  residue  and  turbidity. The move  is  aimed  to  ensure  citizens  can  drink water  that meeting 106 new national  standards.
