In the past year, Shenyang vegetable
market has been seeing a surge of
price hike as prices of mung bean, ginger, milk powder and cooking oil increased one after another. Now the rise is shifting from food to lodging.
The Commercial Times made a survey to 16 local budget hotel chains and found most of them raised room price by 10-30 yuan in comparison with the findings of July last year.
The results show many hotels have chains in local market but most of them choose high-profile locations such as railway station, metro station or central business area. And besides the locations, their room price also depends on their brand positioning.
For example, prices of similar room of Home Inns, Super8, Jinjiang Inn, Hanting Inns and 7 Days Inn on Zhongjie Road - a local downtown area - range from 219 yuan, 228 yuan, 209 yuan to 229 yuan and 206 yuan, a difference of 23 yuan at most.
