Hyatt Hotels Corporation has opened the Grand Hyatt Shenyang, the first Hyatt-branded hotel in Northeast China. Mirroring its home city, the hotel will meld ancient culture with modernity.

Designed by Beijing-based HBA, the design blends elements and motifs from ancient Shenyang with the spirit of a 21st-century city. Bold colors are complemented by modern artwork from local and international artists. Inspired by the imperial decorations of local palaces, the Sky lobby on the 25th floor offers a 360-degree panorama view of the city.

                          

The 353 guestrooms are among the largest in the city⎯⎯starting at 452 square feet and situated between floors six and 23. All rooms boast city views and natural light through floor-to-ceiling windows. Furnished with polished hardwood floors and modern furniture, the rooms are accented with purple and gold touches, as well as artwork depicting Shenyang’s native flower, the rose. Marble bathrooms feature a full-size bathtub and a rain forest shower.

Designed by New York-based AvroKO, the restaurants and bars boast local flavor with cosmopolitan style. Three Chinese restaurants invite guests to experience different ambiances⎯⎯including the casual Cuan, Xin Feng Tian, and the fine dining cuisine at Jun Hui 28. Il Forno, on the highest level of the hotel, is an Italian steakhouse styled like a contemporary trattoria, where guests can dine at the communal chef’s tables, intimate booths, or in one of two private rooms.

                        

Grand Hyatt Shenyang also includes more than 36,920 square feet of meeting and event space, with the centerpiece venue at 11,000 square feet. The Residence a residential-style event venue with a living room, loft kitchen, and two coffee bars⎯⎯and 10 additional multi-purpose spaces complete the meeting and event availabilities.
