<>   The reporter learned from Liaoning museum yesterday that four bronze animal heads of Yuanmingyuan relics will be on display there from Apr 28 to May 30. </P>
<>  Four pieces from a bronze set of 12 Chinese Zodiac signs dating from the Qing Dynasty are first class national culture relics. The bronzes were taken out of the country in 1860 by British and French invaders. Four of the heads – those of the monkey, the tiger, the ox and the pig were purchased back at the price of some 40million yuan and returned to the homeland in 2004 after more than 140 years away from China, but eight others are still missing.

<>    About Liaoning Museum </P><>
    Liaoning Museum in the Heping District, Shenyang, was built in 1931, and was expanded in 1987. The 13-storied main building displays the history of the Chinese history. Activities of various subjects and exhibitions of different sectors are also held here. The museum has a rich collection in 18 categories, including calligraphy and paintings, silk embroidery, bronze and porcelain wares, archaeological records, ancient maps ancient currencies, and stone tablets. On display in the Exhibition Hall of the Chinese History are archaeological discoveries and traditional Chinese arts and crafts, which are of high value for the study of the local as well as the Chinese history. </P>
