<p>Xinle Site 新乐遗址<br/></p><p>Xinle Site is the tribe site of the female-oriented society of the Neolithic Period more than 7,200 years ago. There are thousands of cultural relics unearthed such as stoneware, bone ware, wood ware, coal article and so on and the ancient houses, among which Wood-Sculptured Bird is the earliest cultural relic in Shenyang, as well the longest reserved wood sculpture artwork in the world. </p><p></p><p>Xinle Neolithic Ruins is the ancient relics of New Stone Age. It covers an area of 178,000sqm, with 22,500sqm of the central place. After the discovery of the ruins, many archaeological excavations have prove that here lie three overlapping cultural layers of different time in this region. The Xinle Lower Culture with rich cultural meanings and striking characteristics of the local place is the earliest, which can be dated back to over 7000 years ago. Therefore it is called Xinle Culture and this place called Xinle Neolithic Ruins and has been built into a museum now. All these primitive people here are named as Xinle People. Up to now, the Xinle Culture has become prehistoric typical representation and historic origin of Shenyang area, which provides important materials for the cultural research of prehistoric time in the Northeast China.</p><p> In general, many archaeological excavations have proved that here lie three overlapping cultural layers of different time in this region. They are Xinle Upper Cultural(Broze Age:3000—4000 years ago), Xinle Middle Cultural( Late Neolithic Age:5000 years ago), and Xinle Lower Cultural(Middle Neolithic Age:7000 years ago).</p><p> These important historic relics arouse the interests of archeologists both at home and abroad. So many people have come to see it, traveling, exploring, and seeking their dreams. Some wrote books for it. It serves both as a place for patriotic and historic education and a window for foreigners to understand the city and people. Xinle Neolithic Ruins has made great contribution to culture, science, art and historic research of Shenyang and the whole country as well. In 1982, Shenyang Municipal Government proclaimed it as Municipal Cultural Relics Protection Unit. In 1984, the Xinle Artifacts Administrative Offce was found and at the same time the showcases covering 860 square meters was built up in the south of the ruins which was open to the public in September 16th. The Xinle Site Museum was built in July 1986. Liaoning provincial government publicized that it was classified as Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Site in 1988. It was appraised by State Council as the fifth Key State Relic Unit under Protection in June 2001.<br/></p><p></p>
