Shenyang Becomes Second National Forest City

Shenyang was awarded the title of “National forest city” yesterday at the closing ceremony of the second China city forest forum. Shenyang became the second city after Guiyang, city of GuiZhou province, in earning such laurel.

"Shenyang has finally realized its dream after five years efforts", Zhang Xingxiang, secretary of Shenyang municipal committee of CPC said. <>Shenyang initiated the largest scale greenery construction campaign across the city five years ago. With a total investment of 5.5 billion yuan, Shenyang has planted over 19million news trees and built 69 square kilometers new green space in five-year period. </P><>As an old industrial base and a northern city, Shenyang people will always cherish the title and will take it knows the hardness of earning the laurel of national city. Shenyang will take it as a new start point for another greenery construction compaign in Shenyang.</P>
