Tesco to Open Store in Fushun

<p><font face="Verdana">The British retail giant Tesco has announced that it will open its first outlet in Fushun, Liaoning, before the end of February 2009. </font></p><p><font face="Verdana">The new store, which is said to be the first international chain hypermarket in Fushun, is also the retailer's first energy-saving store in this city. With an expected energy-saving rate of 25%, the new store will reduce electricity power consumption by 1.16 million kilowatt hours and carbon emission by 1,157 tons annually.</font></p><p><font face="Verdana">Located at the Wanghua District, the Fushun Tesco store covers a total construction area of about 14,300 square meters, providing 20,000 kinds of product, including Tesco's own brands. During the early period of its opening, the store will launch various promotions to offer products at preferential prices to local consumers.</font></p><p><font face="Verdana">The new store, which is Tesco's 62nd outlet in China, makes the coverage of Tesco in China extend to 26 cities.</font></p>
