French pianist Richard Clayderman held a solo concert recently in Shenyang, in northeastern China, Shenyang Evening News reports.

This was the last stop of his China tour. His passionate performance provided Shenyang music fans with a wonderful night. At the concert, Clayderman played classic compositions such as "For Elise," "Titanic," "Rhapsody in Blue," "Lyphard Melodie" and "Childhood Memories."

On top of that, as the foreign artist who has probably adapted and played more Chinese music than any other musician in the world, he presented pieces most Chinese audiences are very familiar with, including "Yi Tiao Da He" (A Big River), "Liang Zhu" (The Butterfly Lovers) and "Wo De Zu Guo" (My Motherland).

Richard Clayderman was born in Paris on December 28, 1953, and learned how to play the piano from his father, who was a piano teacher. Rather than like most pianists who focus on classical music, Clayderman paid more attention on instrumental renditions of popular music, rearrangements of film soundtracks, and ethnic music.
