A sculpture which features folk arts of Northeast China (Da yang Ge) was set up at Liaoning Da Sha square on October while a sculpture of Zhang Xue Liang was set up in front of Marshal’s Mansion on December 12. Those are only two of city’s ten big sculptures planned. The other eight are currently under creation to be completed before World Horticulture Exposition. Those sculptures are expected to improve the cultural taste of the city
With the development of city and pressure of traffic, Fang Xing square which has become a bottle neck of traffic was demolished in October this year. A 12 lane 2-way road replaces it, making it wider, flat and creating smooth traffic flow. Traffic speed has improved greatly.
As the auxiliary road in the city, Qing Nian Sa Street, a 2-way 6 lane road was expanded to eight lanes. The three overpasses were dismantled and two auto elevator underground tunnels were built.
The ecological work to Xi river was formally started on October 1. This is the first largest ecological project in the life of the Xi river with a total investment of 40million Yuan. This is true blessing to the 400 thousand residents who live along the river. They will not have to bear the odd smell from polluted river any longer. It creates a strong beneficial environment for Shenyang to develop western areas.
