International Horticulture Exposition to Open on April 30

There are only 70 days to go before the opening of Shenyang International Horticulture Exposition. Yang Yazhou, mayor assistant of Shenyang, briefed the press yesterday on the progress of preparation work for the exposition.

The main construction for the expostion continues without stopping in the winter and will be finished in the middle of March. The flowers inside plastic houses are in bloom, which could absolutely meet the demands of the opening ceremony. A Korean horticulture company will take lots of gardening artworks to the exposition for display , which will become one of highlights at the opening day.

In regard to entrance ticket sale situation, Yang said more than 4million tickets have been sold so far. The target is to sell 8million tickets before the opening. The ticket sale network throughout the city will enable visitors to buy the ticket before the exposition. Primary school students and elderly people above 70-year-old will be offered free access.

The promotion activities for the exposition have been well received both at home and abroad. One of promotion event held in Japan on February 6 attracted over 200 people including 20-plus Japanese congressmen. It is expected that many Chinese and foreign politicians as well as representatives of world top 500 enterprises will gather in Shenyang during the exposition.
